OUR SERVICES FOR YOUR FUTURE CAREER

Natalya

  • Planning

Natalya approached us just before her last year of high school. She was interested in becoming a doctor and wanted to attend a top U.S. university to prepare for medical school in the U.S.

  • Progress

Natalya was fortunate because she had a very impressive science résumé before she began working us, which is unusual. She wanted to attend an Ivy League school and she just needed help with preparing for standardized university admission tests and completing her applications. We prepared Natalya for the ACT, SAT subject tests (Biology, Chemistry and Math II) and TOEFL through regular intensive tutoring sessions. We also assisted Natalya in preparing her applications for which she had to write more than ten lengthy admissions essays. We worked with Natalya to develop and write essays that highlighted her multifaceted interests in the arts as well as the sciences. We also helped Natalya prepare for multiple university interviews as part of her application process.

  • Columbia University

From her many Ivy League acceptances, Natalya chose to attend Columbia University, where is now studying biology and neuroscience and preparing to apply to top medical schools.

Anna

  • Planning

Anna’s parents had been referred to us by another family we’d worked with and they were interested in having Anna attend a top university — and only a top university — in the U.S. Anna was a very bright and accomplished young woman. In addition to being a semi-professional ballerina, she also attended one of Moscow’s top gymnasiums.

  • Progress

We worked with Anna for two years. We advised Anna’s parents that despite her impressive accomplishments, she might not be capable of obtaining admission to a top university within one year because her starting standardized test scores were low and she needed to dramatically improve her English and her academic credentials because unfortunately, American universities wouldn’t understand how challenging the Russian state gymnasium was. We agreed to assist Anna in sending applications after one year with the understanding that Anna might need to take a gap year at the end of which, she would be a competitive applicant at top universities. We prepared Anna for standardized university admissions tests including the ACT, SAT subject tests (Math II, Literature and French) and IELTS through regular intensive tutoring sessions. At the end of this period, she applied only to top universities and unfortunately was not admitted as we predicted. We developed a gap year program for Anna that included intensive English classes, university-level courses at Georgetown University’s summer program, additional test preparation and résumé counseling to highlight her leadership in starting her own culture club outside of her school.

  • Georgetown University

Anna received offers of admissions from many of the schools that had rejected her one year earlier, and recently graduated from Georgetown University where she studied Business and Sociology.

Mikhail

  • Planning

Mikhail’s parents wanted him to study in the U.S. and they were concerned that he could not get an adequate education without going to a boarding school abroad. Mikhail was in the ninth grade when we started working with him, at which time he stated his interest in studying business at a top U.S. university.

  • Progress

To address his parents’ concerns about the quality of his education, we provided a series of Advanced Placement (AP) courses to Mikhail that were unavailable at his school: Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, World History, Statistics and Calculus. We also provided two proprietary courses to Mikhail to supplement his school’s curriculum: an intensive English program and Art & Entrepreneurship. We assisted Mikhail in selecting, applying to and attending summer programs at the Center for Talented Youth (CTY) (administrated by Johns Hopkins University) and Harvard University. At CTY, Mikhail explored his passion for economics through a course in Introduction to Game Theory. At Harvard University, Mikhail earned top marks in university-level courses in Finance and Advanced Economics because of the prerequisite AP courses he had taken with us.

  • University of Michigan

After receiving numerous acceptance letters from top universities across the U.S., Mikhail chose to attend the University of Michigan, where he is now a student in the prestigious Ross School of Business, ranked in the top 3 for business programs in the U.S.
