We specialize in standardized test preparation and full-length academic courses.
Standardized tests can be intimidating because they cover many concepts and have some unusual question types. Our tutors teach both the material students must know and strategies developed specifically for the question types.

We deliver personal academic courses to students in subject such as mathematics, English, economics, physics, history and the arts. Many of our courses prepare students for Advanced Placement (AP) exams, which greatly help students seeking admission to prestigious American universities.

Most reputable universities require that students complete the ACT exam or the SAT exam. Most international applicants take the SAT, though there is often an advantage to taking the ACT.
The scoring and the sections of the two exams are different, though both seek to measure critical reading, English proficiency and mathematic aptitude.

We provide our students with diagnostic exams for both the SAT and the ACT. We analyze the results to provide clear guidance concerning test selection, and then we provide all the tutoring our students need to earn top scores.

Many universities and academic summer programs require students to take either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). While both exams test proficiency in writing, reading, listening, and spoken English, the grading scales and structures are different. For example, the IELTS features a spoken interview with a human grader, while the TOEFL exam uses a microphone to record students as they deliver responses to open-ended questions for 15-45 seconds.

We direct students to prepare for either the TOEFL or the IELTS exam based upon their individual strengths, and we then provide all the tutoring necessary to achieve the marks required for admission.

There are twenty different SAT Subject Tests, and each allows students to exhibit talent in a particular academic area. Each test is one hour and covers a single topic, such as biology or Chinese. Most competitive universities require students to submit scores from three Subject Tests. Some Subject Tests are offered only once or twice a year, while others are offered as many as six times per year. This makes it essential to plan effectively, as students must perform well when they have an opportunity to test.

We provide thorough SAT Subject Test preparation and encourage students to combine these exams with Advanced Placement (AP) courses in the same discipline. This can strengthen academic résumés quite efficiently.

We also provide students with diagnostic exams for SAT Subject Tests to determine which Subject Tests are best to pursue.

Advanced Placement (AP) courses are special opportunities for high school students to complete university-level coursework and take AP exams which are given once per year in May. Students who score well on the exams can earn university credit, and high scores greatly strengthen university applications.

We provide supplemental tutoring and full instruction in a number of AP courses. We encourage our students to begin early and pursue the prestigious Advanced Placement International Diploma, a rare distinction for completing a variety of AP courses and additional research work.

The Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) and the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) are required by many private and independent schools in the U.S. The ISEE has three levels depending on a student’s age, while the SSAT is used only for secondary schools admission. These exams are designed to test reading comprehension, vocabulary, and math skills.

We provide diagnostic tests for all versions of the the ISEE and the SSAT. For students who can choose between the exams, we administer diagnostic tests for both exams and then recommend a test based upon the analysis. We provide personalized tutoring for both exams.

Usually taken in grades 9-11, the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is administered to all American high school students as part of a nation-wide talent search. The PSAT is a useful prediction of performance on the SAT, and PSAT scores can be used for admission to competitive summer programs.

We provide PSAT exams and tutoring for American students – being honored as a National Merit Finalist is a valuable distinction. For international students, we provide PSAT tutoring only in special cases as international students are normally not eligible for the Scholarship Qualifying competition. For international students, other exams, such as the SAT or ACT, are normally more appropriate.
